His advertising clients are extensive, including Coke, Microsoft, Sony Japan, Samsung, Westfield, 42 Below, DB Breweries Beer, Volkswagen, Nissan, Mini, Greenpeace, Vodafone, Madori, Johnson & Johnson, Unilever, Panasonic, Nikon, L’Oréal and M.A.C. In New York, Charles worked on shoots with celebrities such as Britney Spears, Beyonce, Jay Z, The Black Eyed Peas, Kelis and Pharrell Williams, as well as advertisers L’Oreal Paris, Hugo Boss, Anna Sui and Pepsi. Beginning as an art photographer, Charles honed his expertise and command of lighting through still life - perfecting shots ranging from automobiles to food to interiors. He held multiple exhibitions before moving to New York in 2001 to pursue his passion for capturing people. After gaining large set, big budget, and extensive retouching experience in the U.S., Charles returned to New Zealand in 2005 to shoot advertising campaigns and fashion and beauty. Charles continues this work today. Charles lives in Auckland, New Zealand. His work frequently finds him in Sydney, Singapore, Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, London, LA and New York. White Studios Charles own studio complex, was opened in 2007 and is now the busiest and most popular studio facility in the country.
